Global Policing
Thank you to everyone from the Global Policing team, for their teaching and support this term. The children have enjoyed learning about how they can keep themselves safe, and become great citizens of the future.
Year 5 Design Technology- Bridges project
Year 5 have enjoyed researching, designing and building their very own bridges this term. They took a lot of hard work and perseverance, but the finished results look fantastic!
DT- moveable models
Year 3 have been designing, making and evaluation their very own moveable models. They have been making a moveable model that could have been used during the Ancient Egyptian times to help to build the pyramids.
Science- light and shadows
Year 3 having been learning about light and shadows. We made our own shadow puppets and investigated how to change the size of shadows.
Year 2 - Esther Mahlangu
This half term we have been finding out about Esther Mahlangu who is a South African Artist. Esther began painting at the age of 10 and was taught the skill of mural painting by her mother and grandmother. Inspired by her work we created our own African masks using the same colourful geometric…
Final Bridge Build
We completed our bridge building project to span the River Amazon. Here is a great example of triangular structures to give the bridge support.
Year 2 - Wateraid
We have been learning about the importance of water and how it is vital for our survival. We created save water posters and completed a Danceathon in support of the charity Water Aid, which raised a total of £164.39. This will help communities who don’t have access to clean water.

Hyde High Commonwealth Games
IN our second Commonwealth Games event we went to Hyde High School to compete in a specially adapted for the heatwave games. The children applied themselves well to the new activities achieving gold medal position. Thanks to the PE department at Hyde High for hosting and well done to the team.
Basic Conditioning
Today Year 4 have been learning how to use basic conditioning in an algorithm. We have used 'if' and 'when' statements to control a character in a game when other characters' actions are not predictable.
Little Friends
On Friday, we visited reception to meet our little friends beore the make the move to year 1. We had some great adventures on the wild side. Not quite sure about the fish slice though!
Girls Football Tournament
On Friday, we welcomed St Paul's and St James' to the academy to compete in a mini girls football tournament. The girls from year 4 and 5 played really well, winning their games 5 - 0 and 2 - 0.

Cheshire Cricket Finals
The cricket team travelled to Warrington to take part in the Cheshire Cricket finals on Wednesday 13th July. Unfortunately, it proved to be a step too far with us losing all 5 games. Top class effort from the team though. Special thanks to Ellie for stepping in at the last minute.
