What a wonderful day out we had at Blackpool Zoo.  We loved the elephants, giraffes, orangutans and the massive silverback gorilla.  The sea lion show was amazing, especially when one collected a plastic bottle and put it in the recycling bucket! Lots of tired children on the coach home but…

On Wednesday, we had our sports day. Everyone was in a team and took part in the races. We did a running race, 'egg and spoon' race, sack race and some silly races. Then the grown ups had a race. All the children joined in and did so well. Thank you to Mr Allen and Megan for organising,…

Well done to the cricket team for representing the academy at a fantastic community event. After 2 days of great cricket we finished runners up to Bradley Green. Excellent sporting event played in a tremendous spirit. 

Year 4 had a fantastic afternoon identifying trees in our local woods by using a classfication key.

Well done to the swimming team for all their efforts in the Hyde School's Swimming Gala. Narrowly beaten into second place by Bradley Green. Good luck to them in the Tameside finals. As ever, fantastic sporting ambassadors for the academy.

Today in art we had lots of fun designing and making sculptures in the theme of Joan Milo.  

Reception have enjoyed exploring the wild side. We have been making dens and swings out of rope and loose parts, rolling down the hill and searching for bugs! We are also becoming more confident on the climbing frame. What do you like doing on the wild side? 

Year 1 enjoyed a very sunny Sports Day. They took part in lots of team races and had lots of fun! 

Year 4 have finished sewing their bags for their project. The children made sure they met the design specifcation. 

On Friday we had a visit from the History Van. We learnt more facts about the Ancient Egyptians. We completed craft activities, performed a dance and re-enacted a battle.
