Algorithms and Debugging
Today Year 4 started their first computer science unit and learnt to write algorithms with multiple coding blocks. They also learnt how to identify bugs and how to debug an algorithm.
It is a mystery!

Citizenship Award
Well done to Willow and Poplar's Citizenship Award winners for the first half term. Both children are an absolute pleasure to teach and they both always look out for everyone around them - adults and peers. They display our Dowson 'PACT' values everyday. We are very proud of you both!
Diary Vocabulary
Year 4 have been learning some new vocabulary which they can use in their Pompeii diary entries next week. We used word art to explain the meaning on the words and wrote a sentence which could be used containing the word for our diary entries.
Uplevelling Vocabulary
Year 4 were introduced to their new text type. Next week, we are going to be writing a free verse poem based of Vesuvius in Pompeii in 79AD. Today we learnt some new vocabularly for our poems. We explored their definitions and created some word art to represent the words' meanings.

First Day Back
Year 4 had a fantastic return to school and an amazing first day in their new building. We completed lots of team games and had an introduction to school life in Upper School.

Year 3 have been designing, making and evaluation their very own moveable models. They have been making a moveable model that could have been used during the Ancient Egyptian times to help to build the pyramids.
