Rocket launch
We loved watching the rocket launch on Friday. We were amazed with how high it went. This week we are going to make our own rockets with recycled materials in the craft area.
Year 5 Science week
This week, Year 5 took part in lots of fantastic Science week activities.
We started the week with a Teams meeting with a mystery scientist: David the Process Engineer.
We designed logos for the 'Logo Lift off' competition
We then shared our Science selfie challenge photos and…
Volleyball Team

Year 2 Maple - Science Week
Our Science week started with an assembly where we watched some experiments and chemical reactions. We've researched climate change, built our own rockets, designed logos for the Logo Lift Off competition, tried to predict what work a scientist did from Who Am I photographs (we met with Zoe on…
Field work - Werneth Low
Year 4 had a fantastic afternoon using their route map whilst walking up to Werneth Low War Memorial. We stopped at several points during our walk to observe the change in land height. We compared our observations to our map, focusing on the contour lines.
Parachutes
We found the larger parachute took longer to reach the ground due to it encountering greater air resistance.
Parachutes
We made parachutes to investigate the effect of gravity and air resistance. Check out the testing in the next post.

Mystery Scientist - 1 Birch

Science Experiment -1 Birch
We wanted to look at how fabric was made to be waterproof. We experimented with three different materials, glue stick, PVA glue and cooking oil. We predicted which one would make the fabric waterproof. After the experiment we found that the cooking oil was the most waterproof.
