The first completed Diorama. Will post a couple more later. Well done to the huge effort the children have put in and their attention to detail.

We have had the most fabulous time watching the ducklings hatch from their eggs and grow over the last few weeks. They have now moved on to their forever home at a local farm and we will continue to update you on their progress. What did you enjoy most about having the ducks?

Beginning to take shape now. Just the people and the street lights to add and we might have our Diorama.

This evening the boys lost 2 - 4 to Inspire Ashton in hard fought and close game. This ends our Heywood Cup run for this year. Well done to Inspire for a deserved victory and to both teams for a good game played in the correct spirit.

The first houses are beginning to spring up.

In Maths this week we have been learning how to divide amounts equally into different groups. We used cubes to help us. We got the whole amount and then shared them equally between the groups. We were able to solve division questions using this method.

We have been been exploring more of our English text, the main character really wants some friends. We decided to think of some games that we could play with the main character. We worked together in groups to come up a game that we could play with her, we then became actors and actresses and…

During Art, 1 Birch enjoyed looking at the colour wheel and mixing their own colours. We mixed primary colours red, yellow and blue to make secondary colours. We also made some more art work like the artist we have been looking at, Klari Reiss. We added some coloured dye to PVA glue in a petri…

Well done to the basketball team for representing the academy at the Tameside finals this evening . Unfortunately, drawing one game and losing the other was not enough to see us out of the group stage. Great effort by the children though and as ever, represented the academy in the best possible…

We are creating a diorama to showcase our work relating to LS Lowry. The first steps were to create the diorama and here the girls are painting the cobbles.More to come over the next couple of weeks.
