'Today's generation will make a positive difference to tomorrow's world'
A very warm welcome to Dowson Primary Academy!
At Dowson, we are privileged to educate in excess of 480 children whose parents and carers entrusted us with their most prized possession to begin their journey of education in the best way possible. Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make and we take that very seriously.
Our vision is that:
‘Today’s generation will make a positive difference to tomorrow’s world.’
We strive to prepare children with the skills, values and attributes needed to succeed and achieve in an unknown future: this extends beyond them reaching high standards of academic and learning skills, to encompass a deep understanding of themselves, each other and their place and part in the world and teaching them to be great people of the future.
The values of our PACT thread through everything we do and create a culture and climate in school where learners thrive, challenge themselves, grow in resilience, collaborate and aspire to change the world.
- Pride and Respect,
- Aspiration and Achievement,
- Citizenship and Care,
- Teamwork
Most importantly, we want our children to feel safe and be happy – that’s the only way they will be able to be the best that they can be! We nurture and care for them throughout their journey in school, providing them with a wealth of opportunities and experiences, the highest quality of teaching, an exciting curriculum and lots and lots of love and happiness.
We welcome parents and carers into school as much as possible and our partnership with you, as children’s first educators, is very important to us, as is our relationship with the wider community. Together we can promote the highest standards of behaviour and achievement for our pupils.
I look forward to working with you and your family over the coming years in a happy and successful relationship, growing those great citizens of the future: Today’s Children, Tomorrow’s World!
