Class of 2023

Year 5 have had a fabulous week celebrating the Queen's jubilee.

We have sang the National anthem every morning, baked traditional scones, dressed up for our Decades day and finished the week with a fantastic Street party on the playground with some incredible hat creations!

Happy to report 8 butterflies fluttered into the sky this afternoon. They were a bit quick for a photo although some didn't seem too keen to leave the net at first. Look out for them in your garden over the weekend.

Year 5 have had a fantastic time dressing up and learning about the 60s for Decades Day.

Our butterflies are starting to come out of their chrysalis and begin to flutter. Hopefully soon be ready to fly in the wild.

Our caterpillars have moved on to the next stage in their life cycle and are now beginning to form the chrysalis. They still look like caterpillars but that will soon change. Keep checking back for the next transformation.

They will be eating the children next if they get any bigger. They looking like monsters.

Today, 4 Poplar took part in a Relax Kids session. Within the session, we all learnt some techniques on how calm ourselves in situations where we are not feeling our best. We completed the 7 stages of how to be peaceful and identified how finding our calm spot on our hand releases Oxytocin, the…

We got some hands on experience  of Greek cooking with our Greek biscuits. It looks serious stuff, making sure all the ingredients are correct and mixed together correctly. They obviously were as the biscuits did not last long at all!

They're beginning to grow and move about now! We on the way to butterflies!

Well not quite yet! Our butterflies have arrived but as you can see we have a fair way to go before we are fluttering off into the woods. Will keep updates coming on the growth of them.

We will now use our ideas to write a discussion text on whether deforestation should continue. Watch this space!
