Year 4 were set the challenge to complete a science experiment at home. This week we have shared our experiments and discussed our findings.
Ukrainian collection campaign
Mabel helped her auntie organise a Ukrainian collection campaign. They appealed for and collected donations from around Tameside for Ukrainian families. Mabel collected over 40 bags of clothes, toys, games, toiletries and much more. These things are now on their way to Poland to help out Ukrainian…
Kenning Poem - 4 Willow
4 Willow have been creating Kenning poems this week. The children created their own, individual poems based on a fairground (linked to Leon and the Place Between).
Today, we used our Kenning knowledge from the week and generated ideas for a whole class poem based on stories for World Book Day.
World Book Day - 4 Poplar
Today, we celebrated world book day and saw some amazing costumes! We took part in a whole school assembly where we performed a Julia Donaldson poem along with the rest of school.

Mystery Reader

Werneth Low Contour Lines
Next week, Year 4 are planning to go on a walk up to Werneth Low to explore the gradient. In today's lesson, we planned our route and plotted our stopping points where we will observe the increase in gradient. We used the contour lines to help us decide our stopping points.
4 Poplar Mystery Reader!
Today, we had our Mystery Reader come into school to read our new English text called "Leon and the Place Between". The children were so excited to see a different face reading an amazing book to them! Thank you again to Georgy's mother for coming into class.
