Year 1 have enjoyed designing and making a model toy with moving parts. We designed our model on paper and labelled what moving parts it would have and what materials we would use. We had to think about how we could make the parts of our model move. Some children chose split pins, some chose rods and bottle tops to make wheels and some chose string. There were lots of fabulous ideas. We then had to use our design to make our model. We had great fun building our models and decorating them. We then evaluated our project and wrote about what worked well, what didn't work well and what we would change if we made it again.
